Medium sized chandelier hoop earrings, but the ones that are made as hoops at the top and close completely. Chandelier earring styles that have posts tend to hang funny from the holes, perhaps because of the weight, and they also work themselves loose and fall off when least expected. I have lost too many gorgeous pieces because the closure was a post with a simple butterfly backing. I strongly recommend hoops that clasp and the chandelier part should be looped through the upper circle and cascade down from there.
Naturally I also have special occasion earrings that are glamorous and glitzy (and not very practical except for vanity, and contain genuine amethyst, amber, jade or other precious stones, and I do not wear them for sleeping in or for everyday. These are cleaned after wearing and stored securely in a jewelry box or in small storage bags or boxes waiting for their next outing.
