Consider a Backlit Keyboard for your next Pink Laptop Purchase

I recently purchased an HP Pavilion dv4 laptop after researching many different options and price points. I felt good about the purchase and have enjoyed the performance and simplicity of use offered by this computer. However, there is one feature that I neglected to consider – a backlit keyboard. I never realized how useful this feature was until I found myself sitting on the couch in the evening struggling to view the keyboard as I typed away. Like most people, we tend to watch the TV with the room lights turned off, which makes it difficult to view the keyboard when I decide to write some articles or browse the net. A backlit keyboard would help tremendously, as it illuminates just the characters on the keys themselves rather than the entire key.
While not a terribly common feature, there are a great number of manufacturers that are incorporating this option into their machines. In terms of pink laptops, many of the models produced by Dell can be customized to include a backlit keyboard at an additional cost. Even though it adds to the overall cost of the computer itself, I would gladly pay an additional $100 for the benefit of illuminated keys.
