If your child is obsessed with the show Ben 10 from Cartoon Network, he or she may want some of the accompanying action figures to round out their toy collection. Many different sizes have been produced by Bandai, the manufacturer of all the Ben 10 toys, so it’s up to you (and your child) to determine which size of Ben 10 action figures is best.
4″ Collectibles
Three series of the four-inch collectible figures have been released: series 1, Original Series; series 2, Battle Series; and series 3, Alien Force. The Original Series is no longer being produced and figures in this series can come with a hefty price tag (for instance, the original Ben Tennyson figure is $49.99 on ToyWiz.com). Many are no longer available, or are very hard to find. Battle Series figures run in the $25 range, but Ben 10 Alien Force aliens can be bought for as low as $5.99. Four-inch figures are easily stored and handled, but are not recommended for children under four years old.
Mini Figures
Ben 10 mini figures come with playsets, stages on which your child can set his or her games. Playsets with mini figures are priced at $29.99, and have glowing lights and a storage box as well. These are great for children who prefer to keep their game play varied with many different aliens.
Deluxe (6″) Action Figures
The largest of the action figures, the deluxe Ben 10 figures measure approximately six inches each. These toys are also more expensive, ranging from $19.99 to $134.99 (for outrageously difficult-to-find figures). Touted as unique in the world of action figures, the toys ooze glow-in-the-dark slime — a tie-in to the show — as well as other interactive features such as missile-launchers and lights. These toys would be perfect for a child who loves interactivity and flashy features.
So which size of Ben 10 action figures is best for your kid? It all depends on your child’s style of play — and your price tag.
