The most common types of candles for home use are dinner candles, pillar candles, and container candlers.
Votive, or tea light candles are small, disc-shaped candles that are used in paper lanterns, or other holders for decoration. They don’t throw a significant amount of light on their own.
Dinner candles are commonly seen during the romantic dinner date scenes of every movie: long, thin candles, often mounted in groups of three in candelabras.
Pillar candles are shorter and wider, requiring no candle holder. These are often used effectively in candle chandeliers.
Container candles are encased in a heat resistant container of some sort. All are extremely easy to work into the designs of every room. An example of this type of holder is hurricane candle holders, which are often beautiful glass holders enclosed in an elegant metal framework.
