Jeff Gordon, Can Anyone Beat His 4 Championships?

There seems to be only one man who might be able to challenge Jeff for 4 championships in the Nascar Sprint Cup Series and that man is Jeff Gordon’s teammate, Jimmie Johnson.  Jimmie Johnson has won 3 championships and is in contention to win again this year, although so is Jeff along with Tony Stewart, Mark Martin, Ryan Newman and a few others.  There are only 3 races left until the Chase for the Championship start.  That is a playoff type of scenario where everyone still races but only the top 12 have a chance for the trophy and to be crowned the Nascar Sprint Cup Champion for 2009.  The racing field consists of 43 cars, the top 12 racing for the title but the other 31 cars are racing for weekly racetrack trophies and for the prize money.  They no longer have to points race for the championship but are racing for money and position bragging rights only.  Jeff Gordon is challenging for the win every single week that they are racing, once a champion, always a champion.
