Preventing And Treating Acne Scarring

What is your reaction to pimples suddenly appearing on your face?  The tendency is to get rid of them as quickly as possible.  Sometimes we don’t even realize we’re breaking out until we’re getting ready to go out and we look in the mirror.  Then oftentimes we are tempted to pick it, squeeze it, or pop it.  But these measures can cause permanent scarring and pot marks.
Sometimes, just the acne itself, after time and fading, causes scars.
The best way to prevent scarring is to use a good topical over-the-counter medication sold in drug stores.  However, sometimes the scarring or marking is inevitable.  Fortunately, there are treatments and procedures available today to remove these scars.  There are different methods, depending on the severity of the problem and your preference, which can be discussed with your dermatologist to decide which treatment is best for you.  Some of the techniques that are commonly done are dermabrasion, chemical peel, and the highly effective acne laser treatment.
