The stock market today is in a definite uptrend. While it’s not a necessarily strong up trend, it’s a better time to buy stocks than when they are in a downtrend. Buying stocks when the market is headed down is really a recipe for failure. This is because you are fighting the market. The market drags even the best stocks down when it’s in a sell off. You are better off being in cash that being invested. Make sure that you are especially aware at those times in following your stocks. Now, though, it’s a good time to buy stocks that have strong earnings and sales and a high return on equity. Don’t settle for poor earners. Focus your time on the quality stocks the market offers.
